DVD Rental Questions and Answers
We have gathered some questions and answers you may have in regards
to renting DVD movies online. This FAQ will give you an idea of
the typical policies and procedures involved when renting DVD movies
online.
Q: How long will it take to get my rentals? Most of the companies we list ship on the same day that
you place your order, as long as you place your order before
the last mail run of the day.
Depending on how far you live from the rental company, it will
take approximately 1-5 days before your DVD's arrive in your
mailbox.
Due to some postal delays, orders to some rural areas can experience
a delay of an additional 1-2 days.
If your order appears to be delayed, simply notify your rental
company by email and they will investigate further.
Q: It's been over 5 days and I still haven't
received any DVD's What do I do?
Sometimes the US Postal system takes a little longer than usual
to deliver mail from it's source to it's destination. It can happen
to anyone who rents online, so don't think that it is something
wrong with your rental company.
Usually all DVD's arrive in a timely manner, but if it has been
over a week since the DVD has been mailed and you still haven't
received it OR it has been over a week since you mailed it back
to the rental company and they haven't received it, then contact
the company. Usually they will mark it as late and send out your
next movie.
Q: What if I can't find a title or the title
I want is unavailable?
If there is title that you would like your rental company to carry,
then let them know. Rental companies want to stay competitive
and most will be willing to accommodate you and your requests.
If the title you would like is currently unavailable, simply
add it to your rental queue (or wish list) and it will be sent
to you when it does become available. Titles are returned daily
and there is no way for most companies to tell how long the wait
will be for a title to become available.
Q: I received the second or third disc in
my Rental Queue before the first. Why did this happen?
When you return a movie or have an open slot in your Rental Queue,
usually the company will make every effort to ship your first
choice.
If a title in a higher spot is out of stock, send your next available
in-stock title. This way, you will always have great movies on
hand!
Q: How do I report a shipping problem or
dvd that won't play?
If you have any shipping problems, such as delayed arrival or
incorrect shipments, you should report them to the Customer Service
representatives of your rental company. You can also log on to
your account information page to see your rental history.
Q: What if my rental arrives damaged or broken?
Simply contact your rental company and let them know the movie
is broken and then mail it back. You will be promptly sent a replacement
movie or the next movie in your queue.
Q: Can I cancel or change my membership?
Most rental companies work on a month by month membership basis.
You should confirm this with your chosen rental company when signing
up. You will be able to cancel anytime, but your monthly costs
will not be prorated, i.e.; if you only rented 1 movie that month
instead of 3.
